It is vast, the country of India. So many places to see, things to do, people to meet, that planning a trip there may seem daunting – but it doesn’t have to be if you join me in October for a journey to southern India.

For four years Bangalore, in southern India, was my home, my starting point in discovering all that India has to offer and I am passionate about sharing my India with other travelers. While I was not born in India, a part of my heart remains there no matter where my physical body resides and when the need to sink into India calls me back, Bangalore is where I think of first.

Southern India was my point of initiation into the immensity of India. The four years I lived in India marked a major turning point in my life. I traveled, studied yoga, learned about meditation and Ayurveda, became fascinated with the gods and goddesses of India, and met many wonderful people while there. Most of all, I paid attention and I was present to all that India had to offer. I would love to share this with you.

The south has a unique feel and plenty to offer including temples, palaces, beaches, coffee plantations, wildlife centers, outdoor activities including hiking and plenty of wonderful food. I want you to meet some of my friends and teachers in southern India who will share their intimate knowledge of India with us and answer questions about their home.

The teachers I met and the experiences I had caused me to look more deeply into myself and what it means for me to live more mindfully and authentically. My intention in creating Spirit Guided Journeys is to offer others a chance to venture into unfamiliar territory and see what the journey calls forth in them. Traveling in India engages the senses and it takes us out of all that is easy, safe, and certain. I believe that this is when we grow the most. Facing something new is easier in a community of people doing the same thing and that is another intention I have for the Spirit Guided Journeys trips. These journeys bring together a community of like-minded people where each of us can find support, compassion, and maybe even some new friends along the way. That’s what makes the journey joyful.

Come along to southern India – our next departure date is October 30, 2015.
