The first Spirit Guided Journeys trip was a success, with pictures to prove it. I thought I’d share some photos and our itinerary over the next few posts. Plus, I will be adding more photos to the Pinterest page for Spirit Guided Journeys.

On our first full day in India, our group went to Gaia Bangalore and spent the morning engaging in a Nia class, a yoga practice, and then a talk about India with our hostess at Gaia, Poonam Illuri.

Puja

Puja at Ganesh Temple, Whitefield, Bangalore

Later in the afternoon we met again with Poonam to visit local temples in Whitefield. Puja was performed at three of the temples and each of us received blessings from the priest.

On that Monday evening we enjoyed dinner at a local Whitefield restaurant, Herbs and Spices where we enjoyed Indian cuisine and discussed the day.

Bull Temple, Bangalore

On Tuesday, we headed into Bangalore for a circle tour of the area. Our driver, Rozario, expertly maneuvered Bangalore traffic to get us to the Bull Temple and the Ganesha Temple, located next to one another.    The Bull is Nandi, devotee and attendant of Shiva.

We stopped at a goddess temple in the Malleshwaram neighborhood, visited Russell Market for some “window” shopping, had a late lunch at the Tandor restaurant on MG Road, and ended the day at Lalbagh Botanical Gardens.

We had a great day exploring Bangalore. And we had lots more great days in India, so be sure to check back for future posts and more pictures.
